[Two things was wrong when Shino woke up this morning: for one he had slept over the time he was supposed to by like ten or fifteen minutes (obv a big deal). And two, he wasn’t in his normal sleeping clothes. Instead he looked down only to be greeted by a pair of white cotton pants… very strange indeed. After getting his normal clothes on, he’ll address the journals.]

Is it… normal to awake in New Feather attire?

[As usual Shino isn't doing anything particularly interesting today. He’s just at the lovsl grocery store. And right now he’s looking through the winter melons. Now, with Shino being well-— Shino, he has to find the very most ripe winter melon out of the ones available. And right now he's down to two of them; one in each hand. He was lifting his hands up and down trying to see which one had the most proper weight to it.

But the interesting part was that while he was doing this, thousands upon thousands of tiny little itty bitty beetle bugs begin to emerge from his clothing and very slowly start to cover his body in themselves. Not that he seems to notice this however. He’s far too busy testing the weight of these winter melons to notice.]


[ ooc: SO! Shino was mallynapped and stuff guys! IN HIS SLEEP! But luckily it was only for last night. He’s returned now with a new mallynap effect: he’s going to very slowly, but surely start to lose control of his little bug friends that he keeps stored inside of his body. This is the first in a series of post about the affect actually! o/

[Oh, it's you! He glances at her before he looks back at the fruit he's holding.]

[They're crawling all over. He must have them out for a reason, surely.]

They are not capable of such things. Why? Because-- [Wait is there something crawling on him? ... What is his bugs doing crawling on him? He looks to be genuinely surprised at this phenomenon. They don't usually move unless he gives them a command to.

Slowly they all go back into his clothes, so no harm no foul. He hopes this was just a coincidence or a one time occurrence. Oh God is he hoping.]

Are you having 'an off day', perhaps? It's just that it seems more of your vermin have escaped. You should really keep them under better control, I doubt any grocer would be too pleased knowing insects plague their wares~

They simply get... rebellious at times.

[That's a lie. They never get rebellious. Ever. But he doesn't exactly want her knowing he is at a major disadvantage right now. Come on, why won't you listen to him? He puts the winter melons back where he got them. The frown on his face seems to deepen. Just a little.]

I believe I will just-- pick one later. [And try to figure this out. FML. Hopefully Yuuka doesn't spot this isn't something he is used to dealing with.]

[Something is up. She doesn't know what exactly, but she knows there's definitely a problem. First he looks surprised at his own insects, and now he wants to leave. You don't just show up to a grocery, manhandle the melons then leave. The frown doesn't help matters.]

[Kidnapping? She isn't all too familiar with these kidnappings yet, but she's pretty sure he just admitted that there is a problem because of this 'kidnapping'.]

Kidnapping you say? Oh dear. And how did that happen~?

[She had no intention of assisting him in the first place, so time for a quick change of plans. Find out about these kidnappings and how they relate to his 'problem'. After that, who knows~ If it's a serious problem she might have to take advantage of it.]

[YOU DON'T WANNA DO THAT YUUKA! Without his control these guys are like mad dogs with thin breakable leashes... mini-mad dogs. Who are actually bugs.]

Occasionally the Malnosso will send their drones to abduct someone. When that person returns it is possible that there will be certain... side-effects.

[All dogs can be put down one way or another~ If any even try to make a move against her, expect mad swatting action courtesy of her parasol.]

The Malnosso seem to do a lot more than I imagined. But these kidnappings certainly compliment their sadistic sense of humour well.

[She's met humans who have had belongings from their own worlds returned to them, only broken or missing something. It's all terribly amusing to her, humans and their possessions.]

If what you say is true, then you too must be suffering from some sort of side-effect. Care to enlighten me?

[She's not worried about the drones or kidnappings right now seeing as she's all 'I'm a youkai, I won't get kidnapped', so she'll stay focused on finding out more information.]

If you must know.... the effect seems to be that I am incapable of judging ripe melons properly. [Which wasn't exactly true but she might buy it? Nah probably wouldn't.]

[Aaand she finally knows. Sort of. When has he used that term before? She vaguely remembers him warning her about his kikaichu when she was surrounded in a sphere of them.]

How awful. That must hinder your abilities to some degree.

[And then some of his bugs are going to sneak out of his clothing again. They react to even the slightest of his emotions now.]

Or perhaps without me holding them back they would simply chew the flesh off your bone. I hope you do not plan on testing your theory today. [A bluff. Mostly. They're capable of chewing through steel easily back home, yes, but he's not exactly sure if they would do something like that automatically.]
